analysis of opening scene from batman dark knight rises

This is the opening to the Dark Knight Rises which came out in July 2012. It shows us that it is an action film by the dark ominous music throughout also the use of guns and death threats. The main character in this opening scene and one of during the films is the masked Bane (Tom Hardy). He is given a very slow revealing as it creates suspense and also the character revealing him looks scared as he does it. The audience is given a certain level of fear as another character looks the most scared telling the audience that even his presence is dangerous and he should be feared.

The characters then have dialogue discussing that the hostages work for a terrorist named Bane. A high angle long shot is then shown to show the plane flying through the valley.
In various medium shots the CIA operative is then shown interrogating the hostages threatening to shoot them and throw them off the plane. Then in a booming voice grabbing everybody's attention one of the hostages says " Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing them out of a plane?" also his voice creates a fear as it is weird and very calm.
Close ups then show dialogue between the CIA and bane.Using quick cuts they establish then tension
Another plane then fly's over the CIA plane in another high angle long shot. This also creates a lot of tension as we can see what is happening but the audience cant, this also shows how large the film budget is as it means that there were three or four aircraft as there were probably a few to film the two planes and the two films in the scene including one which gets destroyed and crashed.

my favorite film

My favorite film is (Batman) The Dark Knight, This film is my favorite because it showed me a different side to the characters from the cartoons and games I grew up with. Even though this a batman film, batman is not my favorite character the joker was. Played by Heath Ledger (died January 22nd 2008) the joker was made twice as scary and ten times more chillingly disturbing than I could have even imagined, Heath Ledger looked perfect for the role and even though earlier in his career he had been seen as a bit of a hunk. Although I believe Heath Ledger was the best actor in this film I do believe that christian bale gave a very good performance as batman, and nothing is to be taken away from other actors such as Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman playing there respective support roles in this film greatly.

This is a short clip of Heath Ledger playing the joker, (even his laugh is chilling).

My favorite film genre is an action genre as they are very entertaining and keep my attention for the length of the whole film. Some of the things that classify a action film as an action film are fight scenes, explosions and usually a protagonist who even though he isn't a by the books hero you still route for him/ her. some examples of this are Batman, the hulk and Neo form the matrix.

My favorite director is Michael Bay:
He has directed transformers, pearl and Armageddon and many other films, although many people dislike his type of directing because he focuses on very action type with very large explosions and repeated shots but I believe that there is only so much a film can do. His main type of film is action and slightly leaning towards sci-fi. He has won a razzie award and had three other nominations for the razzies.

The film series which made him my favorite director was the transformers films he made something that I watched as a child as a crummy cartoon he transformed it into a blockbuster which although the second film did suffer from sequel syndrome he still kept it interesting enough for people my age.
