The start of this film is a peaceful family scene with some creepy undertones the main creepy under tone is the wax being cooked on the stove when the mother is also feeding the child. The sound also is very ominous as it is non-digetic music and it creates the feeling of tension and apprehension, the tension is then completely replaced by curiosity and the feeling of worry as two new characters are introduced a small child who is screaming and kicking out with a man believed to be his father trying to hold him down. The parents then proceed to strap him into the chair and use duck tape to make sure he stays there this makes the audience worried and anxious

The target audience for horror films is usually teens and young adults this is evident in lots of films, the attraction for young men and teenage boys is the one of being challenged to be scared by a film and if they are not it seen as a bragging right with there friends. Another attraction of horror films for teenage boys and young males is the very attractive women put in the film to be victims. Also the type of video games people play now promote guts and gore so the films emulate this so that they get these young audiences
