Analysis of MAMA Trailer

This trailer is a horror film it puts massive emphasis on the children this is one of the main stereotypes around horror (scary children). The trailer also has the dark undertone of this ghostly figure who the children call mama, this evokes the feeling of fear for the children as many people don't want to see little children get hurt. The first thing in the trailer we see is a man walking into a abandoned cabin in the woods with a man talking about the discovery of the two children we then cut to a POV shot of the man to see a ghostly twisted figure in the corner of the room which then attacks the man. then there is a very quick cut of a court scene then we see two more character looking into a room through a police like interrogation glass, it is then revealed to us that the two children are in the room and the child we see is squatted down and looks almost haunted this is a stereotype of horror films which makes the viewer very wary of that child. It then cuts to the man (found to be the kid's uncle) that talks to one of the children this is a tense moment as the audience still has no idea what the children are capable of. There is then a cut to the children  trying to be parented by their uncle, the horror element is shown through the very small girl first chewing on her sisters hair and one focusing on a moth.

The trailer changed as the focus is now mainly on the uncle and his wife/girlfriend but still with the dark undertone of the children there is focus on mainly on the women as she seems to become a sort of maternal figure, this also leads her to question the children's sanity, the dialogue tells us that the children have been talking to the walls this plays even more into the stereotype of creepy children in horror films. we then get many shots of the children smiling at something just off of camera, we then get a small clip of the children being interrupted while in play there then is a creek in the wardrobe and the women heads toward the wardrobe this is also  a stereotype of horror film, the monster in the wardrobe or hiding, this stereotype is continued later on as the monster is then under the bed of the woman. this is when it cuts to the end credits. After the end credits of the trailer telling when the film is out and other things that needed to be added in have been added in then there is a final clip of the younger child looking at a floating being calling  "mama" the other child's voice is heard telling her not to look but then the being quickly snaps to the child this is another stereotype of horror films called jump scares.

The ABC's of Death Trailer Analyses

The ABC's of death is a horror film and a comedy film, the opening of the scene is a point of  view shot from the view of something being dug up and four or five men hanging over during this there is ominous music playing in the background which is a non digetic then overlapping that there is the sound of a child singing which is digetic as it seems the thing the men are digging up is a child. The child singing is a stereotypical sound associated with horrors as it is meant to evoke feelings of fear and protection. it then cuts to a man hunting with a young girl, this is very thought invoking as in modern society as this may lead people into believing the man is a pedophile. The next thing in this trailer is a flash cut to an explosion and then a very futuristic robot fighting people this is very futuristic therefore suggesting that this film could be a sci-fi but as the robot is killing people the undertone of horror is still kept. the next part is a women driving dressed in black which is a stereotypical color of horror films. we then cut to animated clay person screaming then another clay person being eaten by the toilet this is the first real sign that this film has comedic elements. Then the trailer cuts to a man fist fighting a dog with lots of blood over him this shows us that it is a comedy but also a horror as there is blood all over the man, there is also a small child there which creates a comedic element. there is then many cuts of very violent and comedic deaths. There is then a flash cut of all the alphabet showing clips of the film and the deaths which follow the letters.
