The sound in this opening scene starts with the digetic sound of the television telling the characters the news. As the news tells us a story of the youngest person in the world dying the sound then changes, it goes from the television to another character talking ordering coffee also there is a non-digetic sound of sad music added in to make sure the audience that this is a sad scene.

The camera angles show that at the beginning of the scene the people in the cafe are lower classes and we would look down on them this even means for the police officers in this scene. We are then taken out of the cafe to a street where the camera angle now turns to a slight low shot and gives power and prevalence to this character  the camera then pans around the character to reveal what the character is doing.

In this opening scene we are shown two very big stereotypes  of the genres they are, the explosion is a stereotype of thrillers as it creates tension and worry for the audience. Also the emotions of the people in the cafe are stereotypical of a drama as it makes us either empathize or pity those characters, so by using this stereotype they evoke feelings and emotions in the audience.
